ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATES
Data center enterprise sofware (Data Center Information Management (DCIM) and IT Service Management (ITSM)) can greatly enhance the effeciency and effectiveness of your data center operations and overall IT organization. But the analysis of competing vendors, selection of the product best suited to your organizations needs, and implementation of the chosen software is labor intensive and time consuming.
ETA has experience with all types of data centers from server rooms, to multi-site, tier 1 fortune 100 facilities. We have first hand experience with solutions appropriate for small medium and large environments and can greatly reduce the time and effort to narrow the field of competing packages and match the best product to your needs. We can perform the entire project from requirements analysis to implementation, or any portion needed.
DCIM software is the fastest growing, and most rapidly changing market in enterprise software. Their features, functions, operation and cost varies widely from vendor to vendor. ETA gathers your requirements, works with your team to prioritse them and performs a scored, objective analysis of the products best suited to your requirements. We can act as your agent preventing the vendor sales teams from bothering you during the analysis and down selection process or you can be fully engaged.
Once the down selected vendors are chosen, we perform subjective analysis via hands-on demonstration of each of the products in the down selected group and provide our pro/con report of each product from an ease of implementation and use, completness of requirements met and additional functionality. We also assist you in the selection and negotiation process if desired. Once the DCIM software is selected, ETA can provide complete implementation or augmentation services through implementation.
ITSM software is more mature that the DCIM offerings, but like DCIM, the product offerings vary widely in features, functions, operations and cost. Also, most ITSM implementations need to be integrated with other existing service applications - monitoring, ticketing, change management, and configuration management to name a few. So while the selection process is similar to DCIM, the requirements gathering and prioritization is more involved. For an explanation of the process offering, see the description of DCIM Analysis / Selection / Implementation above.
